Personal Therapy for Trainee Therapists

Develop greater self-awareness, emotional resilience and confidence in both your personal and professional life as a future therapist.

I offer personal therapy for trainee therapists as a supportive and reflective space where you can explore challenges, deepen your understanding of yourself, and develop the emotional resources needed to sustain a meaningful and effective therapeutic practice. Having taught and supported therapists in training for over twenty years, I understand the emotional, academic and professional demands that training can place upon you.

What’s my approach?

My approach is grounded in warmth, safeness and connection, creating an environment where you can think openly, reflect honestly and explore your experiences without judgement. Drawing on Psychodynamic, Person-Centred and Compassion Focused Therapy, I help trainees develop a deeper understanding of themselves, strengthen self-compassion and build the confidence to respond to difficulties with greater awareness and care.

Personal therapy can provide an opportunity to understand the patterns, experiences and relationships that shape how you work with others. It can help you develop greater emotional resilience, strengthen your professional identity and enhance your ability to build authentic therapeutic relationships with future clients.

Recognised as an essential part of training by organisations such as the Health and Care Professions Council and the British Association for Music Therapy, personal therapy offers a valuable foundation for both personal growth and professional development.

To help make therapy more accessible during training, I offer a reduced fee for students.
